I made the Bilgy tent with your "kit" of supplies last winter.   My climbing friend and I are very weight conscious now that we have a few years on us, so the Tarp Tent idea was interesting.  This seven day trip deep into the North Cascades was defined by our weight. Most of our mountaineering would not allow a light tent, but much of this trip is at or near tree line, so we figured the tent would work.   We got into serious rain, some wind and we did fine.  Here are two pictures of the tent from this last summer in the North Casdae Picket range.
