Lightweight Items
|
| CUBEN FIBER |
WT/SQ YD= .33 oz and .48 oz.
This is the lightest wt. outdoor fabric we have ever seen.
It is 50% lighter than Kevlar, four times more durable than Kevlar and lasts as long as
Spectra and remarkable weighs less than 1/2 oz. per square yard. It flexes without
loosing strength. Cuben Fiber retains 100% of its original strength after
being folded 250 times. It is not effected by salt water nor does it soak up
water. It has great UV resistance and is extremely water resistant. Uses:
great for extremely lightweight tarps, rain gear, stuff sacks, packcovers. See
"cuben tape" for a no-sew option on
this fabric.

| SILNYLON -COATED 1.1 OZ RIPSTOP |
-
- WT/SQ YD=1.3
oz 100% nylon fabric with a silicone coating. Extremely lightweight,
windproof, tightly woven. Small reinforcement grids woven into fabric. Machine
washable. Seams need to be sealed with silicone seam sealer (our item #4026). Uses:
tents, rain gear, stuff sacks, packcovers, lt.wt. tarps. Wash Code =1
ROLL SIZE = 100 PLUS YDS (varies- call)
- DIFFERNCE
BETWEEN 1STS AND 2NDS ON SILNYLON: We sell a hundred yards of 2nds to every 1 yard
of 1sts. Every now and then it may be slightly dirty or there may be a mark in
the fabric or there may be an extra amount of silicone in the form of a narrow, whitish
streak. In other words there may be minor cosmetic imperfections but we
won't sell any silnylon that we feel is structurally compromised
unless you know about it ahead of time.
- NOTE: On
silnylon (coated 1.1 oz silicone ripstop) there is no right or wrong side. Because
the silicone is impregnated it is present on both sides of the fabric

| PRIMALOFT -SPORT WT. |
- WT/SQ. YD=3.0
oz. & 4 oz. 100% fine polyester fibers by Albany International. Refered to
as synthetic down, it is equal to the physical and thermal properties of down. When
wet it absorbs half the amount of moisture of the Lite Loft above therefore it provides
more warmth when wet. Some quilting is recommended in areas exceeding 24" x
24" to ensure stability and downproof or high thread-count fabric is
required. Uses: outerwear, mittens, sleeping quilts, sleeping
bags (For more details on how much insulation is recommended see loft guidelines for sleeping bags). Wash

| Easton
Aluminum 7075-79 tent tubing. It is available in 2 different diameters (.34"
and .433"). Black anodized. 18" lengths. Custom make your own tent
poles. Poles can be shortened. (NOTE: Poles usually require more sections with
inserts than sections without inserts-it is best to map it out on paper to determine how
many you need of each). Sections can be shockcorded together using 1/8"
shockcord. Endtips for .34" diameter poles fit into 9/32" grommets (also
5/16" grommets). Endtips for .433" diameter poles fit
into 9/32" grommets (also 5/16"grommets). Endtip #2 is used
when poles are to be shockcorded together. Endtip #1 is used when poles are not
shockcorded together.
Pictured are both tent pole sections: top one is section w/ insert- it has the silver
sleeve on the right. The bottom one is the section without insert-a hollow aluminum
tube that slides onto the silver sleeve to connect the two. When combining 2 or
more sections to form a longer pole, using one pole without an insert will give you a
hollow end on both the rightside and leftside of the long pole to insert an
endtip. [NOTE: This picture is the .34" diameter poles. The outside
diameter of these sections are approximately the diameter of a Bic ink pen (greater than a
1/4" and slightly less than 3/8")]. [NOTE: The .433"
diameter poles are not pictured but they are similar to the size of a Sharpie felt tip
pen]. Poles are now BLACK in color.
